Trance

As I retreat to my inner self, I was taken to a vast lush green pasture. I opened my eyes to see a panorama of a beautiful meadow. Suddenly I heard horses galloping next to a picket fence so did my heart race in rhythm with rapid equine footsteps. I started wandering away from the horses. The breeze was gentle, brought with it a faint whistle from a faraway humongous tree. Wondering, if there might be someone, I walked towards it. The path seemed familiar as if I have known this place forever. I felt calm, my breath slowed down while I passed by a flock of sheep grazing on, not perturbed by my presence. Under the tree, a shepherd was caressing a frolicking lamb, I gazed at his peaceful face — so familiar yet can’t recall who he was. When his eyes met mine, he smiled with a graciously welcoming look probably waiting for my arrival. I had several questions — Is it a Deja vu? Was I him in my previous birth? Does this place even exist? Is this place that I might visit in future? I did not bother to make a conversation with him. I strolled around picking wild flowers — pink, yellow and purple! I was awe stuck with the beauty — cheerful birds, prancing humming birds, dainty golden dragonflies, exotically colored butterflies! At a distance, I saw a grassy plain hill, I was drawn to it. As I hiked towards it, I saw gorgeous sun slowly sinking in, the sky filled with beautiful hues of orange, yellow, pink and blues! I sat down to watch the sleeping sun admiring the wonders of sunset. Twilight fell, the sky turned to a light, dusky purple littered with tiny silver stars and full moon. I laid down on the grass, watched the sea of blinking stars, with an occasional burst of light by bunch of fireflies drifting by. I was in eternal bliss — lost track of time, all I felt was positive energy pouring incessantly into me, blissful happiness it was! I realized I was in trance when I heard a familiar voice. My senses brought me back to present from deep meditative state!
